Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
