An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
